The only reason that people say low carb eating doesnt work for long term success is because they look at it as a “diet” rather than lifestyle habits. Just like how you trainers say: Diets dont work, lifestyle habits do. Okay well im sorry to say that low carb eating can be safely done for a lifetime. History is all the proof you need. Think, think think. Cavemen hunted animals and ate everything. Used the bones for tools. Whered the fat go? Im sure they ate it, not tossed it out, buddy.

The human diet consisted largely of animal foods (hence high saturated fat and protein) for 99% of our existence. You cannot deny that because it is science, it is just true that humans would hunt for meat and ate everything down to the bone (which is doubtely fatty), yet, unknowledgeable doctors, dietitians, nutritionist, trainers, etc are taught that a low fat diet provides health to the body? Whats wrong with this picture? ;)

There is no science behind it because bmoviequeen1426 is right. A high carb diet is unnatural to humans and causes humans to overproduce insulin which is the fat storing hormone. You can’t store fat w/o it.

Not a problem. Appreciate the apology. Read Fit or Fat for Women by Covert Baily. It will easily explain the science behind why a low carb diet is not the best for losing fat, not weight.

Sorry that was a little rude. I get really worked up about anti-low carb sentiments. Protein Power saved my life and low-carb has a rap that just isn’t true. I appreciate a few of your videos and varying opinions are what make the world go round.

I think you’re a very confused man and I hope you don’t actually tell obese people to go out and eat granola or eat low-fat yogurt. What an injustice you would be doing them. Low carb is not easy. You try just eating meat, nuts/seeds, eggs, fruit/veg all the time. I don’t think you can handle it and I know you’re not doing that now…it’s easy to tell when someone is a long time low carber. They typically have an extremely lean physique. You should try it to shed some of that bulk.

Low carb diets work by reducing carbohydrates. Which reduces blood glucose down to normal level. This in turn reduces the demand for insulin. This in turn allows fat to be released from fat cells.
Carbohydrates drive insulin drives fat accumulation.
Cutting carbohydrates cuts insulin cuts fat accumulation.
Low carb diets dangerous? Since when is a meal of chicken and vegetables dangerous?!?

low carb diets = weak muscles and impaired brain function. it works for weight loss in the short term but its downright dangerous if you keep doing it indefinitely.

energy = calories … if you eat you have energy … BUT the carbs stays in your sistem more time .. so you have more time to burn them … but i fyou eat fat and dont burn it it goes right to your hips and belly …

along those same lines, you could say that a vegan diet is great too. You are cutting protein, which you said has more calories per gram, and you can eat as much veggies as you want. Also you get more nutrients out of a vegan diet.

The side affect of vegan vs low carb is that on low carb you still clog the veins with sat. fat, when will lead to a heart attack.

Steve you are oversimplifying a complicated issue. Low carb diets work because of a calorie deficit, it’s filling, and because of burning fat as fuel once one is fat adapted.

You just don´t know what youre saying, people on low carb feel no hunger at all at any time because ketosis stunts apetite.

the trick is to control blood sugar levels the reason to do this is to stop your body over producing insulin. INSULIN IS A FAT PRODUCING HORMONE. How to do this is to lower carb in take by eating low GI foods. These are the foods that keep blood sugars on a good level.Eating 5 hours apart is good to because the body will produce more HGH (human growth hormone)so that means when you finish yor meal insulin kicks in for 3 hrs the next 2 hrs HGH kicks in that stuff kicks belly fat makes lean muscle

low carb diets work. FACT. if u just cut down on regular food you dont loose as much weight because your body readjusts to what youve eaten and will burn calories to suit. example, if you eat loads you burn off more, eat less you burn off less. its how our bodies are programmed to work. why do you think there are sooooo many more sucsess stories regarding atkins than regular diets??

Gee dude, if you restrict carbs which have 4 cal/gram and increase fat which has 9 cal/gram, wouldn’t you be increasing calories? Do the math.

NOT!!! you need to do a little more research on the research…if you have read the science on this you will notice that on average those on a low carb diet actully eat about 300 to 400 cal MORE a day and still lose massive amounts of weight….and a high percentage of this weight loss is PURE fat..not just water or muscle..yeesh take the time to investigate this before making erroneious conclusions…

i’m sorry, this guy does not know what he’s talking about. low-carb diets are not based on lower-calorie content.

Free-carb breakfast make my day! otherwise with carbs I feel sleepy during the work, so I have more tea and coffee and then I feel full so I delay the lunch and dinner.. so my day become terrible with that.

I have thought before about lowcard diet but.
Right now it´s not for me because I have a physical job and I work out in my spare time so I need the carbs for energy. Second I only want to eat healthy fats like some oils, healthy nuts and fish.

I love eating low-carb. It’s not a diet; it’s a lifestyle. I have more energy, sleep better, and my skin has cleared up.

Sure enough you’ll remain on a “diet” one aberrant way or another…
