Is it safe to lose 35 pounds in two months? With dieting and working out for about 2 hours each day?

Jenn asked:

So I want to know if it is safe to lose a total of 35 pounds in two months. I know it is possible people have done that and more. I want to know if it is safe or not.
No flames please, I am just asking, not necessarily planning on doing it. If it is safe, how would you recommend going about it. If not please list the reasons as to why it isn’t safe. Thanks!! :)

diet properly and excercising is fine. but if its diet pills or just NOT eating, then 35 pound loss can be really dangerous in a short amount of time

You can try but doing the maths shows you would need to burn 2041 calories more than you eat a day to do it. So i guess if you eat about 1000 -1200 calories and do a lot of exercise than its possible.

35 pounds is a lot for 2 months. As long as it is a healthy diet and workout plan you are on, then I am sure it is healthy. Ask your doctor if you want to be sure. If you are just not eating and running all the time, then no that is not healthy at all. So I guess if you are dieting with a good diet plan, and have a nice workout plan then it is fine and safe to do! -Good luck if you are going to do it! It is a lot of effort!

I would say that this is not a safe thing to do. Or atleast, not a wise thing. Most of the weight lost will be water weight. And any fat lost will come right back on. So in the end, you will probably gain back more weight than was originally lost. Also, if you change your diet dramatically, you could become mal-nourished. And the sudden change in your nutrition could leave you feeling quite ill. Not to mention the physical strain on your body from excessive working out. Trust me kid, been there, done that. Not worth it.
