What is a good amount of weight to lose the first week of dieting?

I have been on a low fat, low calorie diet. I have lost 3 lbs the first week. Is that good or bad?
I walk 2-3 miles every morning. And exercise every afternoon. Plus I lift small weights to tone my arms.

    Three pounds in the first week is actually very good!. Sometimes you will hear people speak about higher weight loss the first week but usually they are either men (which have a higher metabolism rate and will lose more than women) or the additional weight loss is through water loss from a fat diet which they will gain back.

    Since you have been on a low fat, low calorie diet your loss is probably 2 1/2 pounds fat and 1/2 pound water.

    Now that you are into your second week expect your weight loss to slow down to 2 pounds and then try to keep it at 1-2 pounds a week. That’s a healthy weight loss.

    Your doing well! Keep it up and you will continue to do good.

    That is good. It takes you body time to adjust. I found this website that had a new dinner plan posted every day. I have been stopping at the grocery store after work and picking up the ingredients, then making that meal. I started eating a little earlier (around 6:30 PM) and then I go for an hour walk. I’ve lost 12 pounds in 4 weeks and my **** looks great from all the walking.

    WOW. I can’t believe Sarah…well, thanks. That is my website. Glad it is working for you. By the way, I just updated it. Nice dinner idea for tonight. Light and healthy, but full of flavor.

    Sorry about that….to answer your question. 3 pounds the first week it terrific. Make sure your not starving yourself and get out and exercise every day. Make time.
