go on the carb diet. you dont have carbs to burn when you exercise so you go straight to burning fats. eat about 10 or 15 carbs a day. foods good to eat are meats and cheeses

I have been using a program called 5×5. It is a three day per week workout routine (I do cardio the other 2 days) that focuses on strength building. It’s important to give your body at least 24 hours to heal after a workout. You don’t want to keep working the same areas every day. When your muscles heal is when they add new muscle. Strength building is important if you want to lose fat because muscle mass requires more calories, so fat is burned off faster the more muscle you have. This program only takes about 30-45 mins three times per week. You should also incorporate some cardio if have a significant amount of body fat. If you workout on an empty stomach you will also burn more fat. The reason for this is because when you start working out your body burns off sugars before it starts burning fat. If you have less sugars to burn off the fat burning will start earlier in the workout. What I do is I eat lunch around noon and workout around 6pm. You don’t have to starve yourself either, that is not dieting. What you need to do is eat more whole foods and less processed foods. You can still have an occasional fish and chips or burger and fries, they key is moderation. Just cut down the amount of junk food.

The thing you need to understand here is you can’t just lose weight from one area of the body. It’s an overall gain or an overall loss when it comes to the battle of the bulge. That’s why people who’ve lost a lot of weight look thinner in their faces and their arms have really nice cuts along the shoulders.

3 times a week is ok, but you should really try to bump it to four times a week - for an hour (+ 10 minutes for the change room). I’d do 20 minutes of some cardio you like (bike, treadmill, eliptical etc…), and 40 minutes of weights.

I’m sorry, but I really don’t buy the I’m so busy line when it comes to being in shape and keepnig a schedule. I used to think I was too busy too - but it comes down to MAKING the time for YOURSELF and your HEALTH. I steal 30 minutes at lunch to go jogging at work. When I was doing school and working retail I’d go to the gym around 10pm for an hour. I had to give up my drinking and my TV watching, but that was ok because I was happier with the person I was.

    Make a change for you!
